Measured to be harder therefore training for fitness and good health conditions are necessary. Trekking to Everest region in Nepal is a wonderful opportunity to meet the famous ethnic people of Sherpa and to enjoy some of the best mountain sceneries on earth. An interesting flight in the mountains will take you to the Everest Trail and the alpine world.
 

During this Tengboche Namche Everest trek, you can experience the magic of the mountains. The icy glaciers, lush forests, and waterfalls would meet you through the trek. You will see highland people doing their daily life and observe how friendly people can be despite the challenges in the highlands and the basic amenities they have.

Itinerary - Day by day

Day 1. Kathmandu elevation:1,400 m

Arrival in Kathmandu Airport and welcomed by a guide at the airport. Transfer to the hotel where the guide would brief the trekking program. You may have some time, depending upon your time of arrival, to explore areas near to the hotel.


Day 2. Kathmandu

A day of rest or options for sightseeing tours or city walks and enjoy areas around the hotel. The reason for an extra day in Kathmandu is to acclimatize in Nepal and to adjust our body clock.


Day 3. Lukla: 2,860 m

Early morning drive to Ramechhap to take a flight of 25-minute flight to Lukla’s interesting airport of Tenzing Hillary Airport. Flights in high altitudes depend highly on weather conditions. Lukla is the gateway to Everest Area. The stunning view of Kwande is the beginning of several mountains we see during the trek. A gentle trek through rhododendron forest beside Dudh Koshi river. Cross steam of Thade Koshi. Prayer wall (mani walls) are seen during the walk. We trek through the settlement of Ghat and visit a monastery before arriving at Phakding.
 

Ascent 270 m - descent 500 m.

  3-4 hours


Day 4. Namche: 3,400 m

Prepare for a challenging day of trekking. An enchanting trek through the village of Tok Tok to see the grandeur of Thamserku mountain. Bengar village and Monjo are villages on the way. Enter the area of Sagarmatha National Park, a World Heritage Site (Natural). Trek through Jorsale village and cross the suspension bridge over the icy river from where the majestic sight of Tabuche mountain is seen. Steep trek up through the pine forest to arrive at Namche.

 Ascent 1,100 m - descent 310 m.

  6-7 hours


Day 5. Mountain sightseeing and pleasure walking

A day for acclimatization or rest in Namche.
Options for a panoramic view of the highest mountains at 360° from the Tenzing Hillary Park, a famous viewpoint renowned for sunrise on the top of Mt. Everest. Visit Sherpa Museum and Everest View Hotel and back to Namche.

Ascent 500 m - descent 500 m.

  4 hours


Day 6. Thame: 3,820 m

Trek through pine and rhododendron forest to Phorte. Reach Thamo village to visit a nun monastery. Thamo is the gateway to Tibet. Trek to Samde and then cross a suspension bridge to reach Thame which is also regarded as the last Sherpa village. We will observe a lot of Mani Walls and Stupa (Chorten) on the trail. Himalayan tahr, yak, and the national bird of Danfe can be seen on the way. In Thame, we have a choice to visit one of the oldest monasteries in the region.

Ascent 550 m - descent 250 m.

Day 7. Kangjuma: 3,570 m

Trek back through the same trail to Khunde village and Khunde Hospital which probably has the best medical facility in the region. Trek to Khumjung village, visit Hillary School founded by Sir Edmund Hillary, one of the two first Everest Summiters and visit Khumjung Monastery. Trek to Kangjuma. Ama Dablam, Thamserku, and Kangdega are seen impressively beautiful from Kangjuma.

Ascent 500 m - descent 800 m.

  5-6 hours


Day 8. Tengboche: 3,860 m

Descend through pine and rhododendron forest to the river bed of Phunki Tenga and cross the suspension bridge and climb steeply up with zigzag turns to reach Tengboche. It has one of the finest monasteries in Nepal. It is on the lap of Kangtega and Thamserku mountains. It is a glorious location to see Everest and Ama Dablam.

Ascent 600 m - descent 350 m.

  4-4 hours


Day 9. Monjo: 2,845 m

Descend to Phunki Tenga and cross the river to ascend to Namche. Good daybreak in Namche where we will have options to buy souvenirs. Trek down to Monjo.

Ascent 750 m - descent 1,700 m.

  5-6 hours


Day 10. Lukla: 2,860 m

The final day of trekking. Trek back through the pine forest to Thado Koshi River and trek back along the Dudh Koshi River. As we near to Lukla, there is a gentle final ascent.

Lukla is a place to celebrate the great trek experienced with the trekking team. You may offer to leave trekking gears you don’t need to your trekking team. It may be a generous gesture to those who cannot afford to buy such.

Ascent 350 m - descent 350 m.

  4-5 hours


Day 11. Ramechhap: 474 m-Kathmandu: 1,400 m

Time to say goodbye to the trekking team. Flight to Ramechhap and drive back to Kathmandu and transfer to the hotel.

Day 12. In Kathmandu valley

Options for sightseeing tours to World Heritage Sites/city walk/ayurvedic massage or rest in Kathmandu.

Kathmandu Valley has, perhaps, the densest concentration of UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Seven UNESCO WHS of Bhaktapur Durbar Square, Boudhha, Pashupati, Patan Durbar Square, Swoyambhu, Kathmandu Durbar Square and Changu Narayan Temple are framed within 400 sq km. For a full day tour exploring three UNESCO WHS are comfortably possible. For example, you may choose Bhaktapur Durbar Square (a medieval city square), Pashupati (the holiest Hindu temple) and Bouddha (a Buddhist stupa) for a smart mix of culture and architecture with two major religious (Buddhism and Hinduism) sites of Nepal.


Day 13. In Kathmandu Valley

An extended day for sightseeing tours to World Heritage Sites/city walk, ayurvedic massage, or rest in Kathmandu.

You may choose to visit Patan Durbar Square and Swoyambhu for a half-day program and Patan Durbar Square, Swoyambhu and Kathmandu Durbar Square for a full day program.


Day 14. Back to home

Departure to the airport for flight back.
