There are one and half dozen of houses built in similar model at Rainaskot of Lamjung district. The village has a historic Kot (fort). The fort is at an elevation of (1,675 m) in Rainas Municipality-9. It has centuries-old history built during the reign of chaubise King Dravya Shah.

There are temples of Kali and Shiva nearby fort. It is bordered by Rahulkot to the east, Dwaregauda to the west and Manedanda to the south. Similarly, there are heritages linked with Bir Bhakti Thapa beneath the village.

Long stretches of Dhaulagiri, Annpurna, Manaslu, Lamujung and Langtang Himalaya can be sighted from the fort. There is Gurung village on the lap of the fort.

Rainas is suitable place to understand the rural lifestyle where farming, threshing, milking, fishing etc can be spotted.

The villagers have started community homestay from December 8, 2017. There are 14 houses in the village that can accommodate 90 people overnight. The Homestay Management Committee distributes guests and lodge them at different homes. Local dishes are served at the homestay.

The villagers performs Ghatu, Sorathi and Serga dances as per wishes of the guests.

Access

Kathmandu-Dumre is 133 Km. Dumre-Paudi, 22 Km. Paudi- Rainaskot, 14 Km towards Northeast. There are regular bus services from Beshisahar and Dumre via Paudi as far as Pyarjung.
