Measured to be harder therefore training for fitness and good health conditions are necessary. The person who are  suffering from asthma, high blood pressure, heart disease or intricate medical conditions hikers are not recommended.

A trek near to Tibet would in the central north of Nepal near Mt. Manaslu is Manaslu Trek. Mt. Manaslu at 8163 meters is the world’s eighth tallest mountain. The area receives relatively less number of trekkers in compare to Annapurna and Everest. We begin to ascend and pass through small villages including the village of Ghap.

We observe people living in the villages carved in challenging heights and practicing the religious way of life, and visit monasteries, mani walls, and prayer flags. The diversity of the picturesque landscape and the grandeur of the mountains are guaranteed to captivates you as we trek.

Itinerary - Day by day

Day 1. Kathmandu: 1,400 m

Arrival in Kathmandu Airport and welcomed by a guide at the airport. Transfer to the hotel where the guide would brief the trekking program. You may have some time, depending upon your time of arrival, to explore areas near to the hotel.


Day 2. Labu Besi: 900 m

Drive to Soti for a scenic drive westwards. During the drive through numerous villages and rice fields and we often see mountains on the way. Reach Soti.

We begin our trek from Soti with an easy trek on the seasonable road to Labu Besi for two hours. Stay in Labu Besi. Labu Besi is a Gurung village beside the Budi Gandaki River. Shringi Himal is clearly visible.

Day 3. Dovan: 1,070 m

An easy trek to follow the river of Budi Gandaki and passing through the villages on the way to reach Khola Besi via Machha Khola. After lunch, walk along the Budi Gandaki river and cross a bridge and reach Dovan. Stay in Dovan. It is a small Gurung village.

Day 4. Jagat: 1,300 m-Salleri: 1,358 m-Philim: 1,570 m

Easy trek up to start the day up to Yaru Phant. We see a lot of waterfalls and amazing landscapes during the day. Trek to Jagat Village. There is a checkpoint for trekking permits. We cross some suspension bridges on the way reaching Salleri Village. After lunch, we trek to a big Gurung village of Philim via Sirdi Bas. There are lots of ups and down with easy trek throughout the day. Stay in Philim.

Day 5. Deng: 1,860 m

An easy trek to start and reach Eklebhatti. Descent trail to Nyak Phedi after crossing some suspension bridges we reach Pewa. Continue trek to Deng. It is the starting point to the upper hill area and the lifestyle is influenced by Tibetan Buddhist culture. Stay in Deng.

Day 6. Namrung: 2,630 m

After an easy trek begins, we pass by Rana, Bihi Phedi, and Ghab village. At times, the trail narrows down and crosses many suspension bridges on the way. After lunch in Ghab, continue the easy trek through the forest, cross the stream and ascend to Namrung Village. Namrung is a small village of Tibetan influence.

Day 7. Lihi: 3,000 m-Sho: 2,900 m-Lo: 3,180 m

Easy walk for an hour through the village. Gentle ascent for an hour up to Lihi. We can visit the monastery in a beautiful small village. From the village, Manaslu and Himal Chuli are prominently visible.
Descend to another suspension bridge and ascent to Sho Village. We see prayer walls (mani wall), and chhorten (village stupa) on the way. We continue the ascent to Lo Village. Mt Manaslu is seen towering over the village. Stay in Lo.

Day 8. Punggyen-Sama: 3,500 m

An easy ascent to Shyala. Shyala is a viewpoint to see Mt. Manaslu and other mountains. We trek up to Sama Village and stay there for an overnight. It lies on the lap of Mt. Manaslu.

Day 9. Sama: 3,500 m

It is a day for acclimatization and exploration. We turn left to continue upwards to Punggyen Gompa. The monastery is a beautiful viewpoint to see the mountains around. After visiting the monastery, we trek back to stay another night in the village.

Day 10. Shamdo: 3,800 m

Begin the day with a visit to the village monastery of Sama. Ascend to Birendra Tal. It is a high lake formed by the glacier of Mt. Manaslu. The view is incredible. It is considered one of the sources of many rivers in Nepal. Trek down to join the normal trail and trek up again to Shamdo Village which is the last village of Nepal before Tibet. Stay in Shamdo Village.

Day 11. Dharmashala: 4,500 m

Gradual ascent to Dharmashala. It is a resting place on the way. It is an alpine area with very little vegetation seen on the way. Numerous mountains are visible from the area. We may see Blue Sheep on the way.

Day 12. Larke Pass: 5,100 m-Bin Thang: 3,590 m

Start a little early after a light breakfast. We need to start with our head torch and be more prepared to trek. It is an important day for the view but a challenging day for walking. We can experience high altitude and snow when we reach the top of Larke Pass. After the pass, the trail down is a little challenging and steep for one and a half hours over the moraine. We see the good views of the Annapurna range, Kangka Ru, and the different face of Manaslu. We descent gently to Bin Thang.

Day 13. Dharapani: 1,963 m

We descent down to the wooden bridge and walk along the stream and through the pine and rhododendron forest to Goa. After lunch, continue the descent to Dharapani via Tiliche Gaon. Stay in Dharapani.

A dinner is planned to celebrate the trekking success with your team and to thank all members of the trekking team. You may offer to leave the trekking gears you don’t need to your trekking team. It may be a generous gesture to those who cannot afford such gears.

Day 14. Kathmandu: 1,400 m

Drive back to Kathmandu. Transfer to the hotel

Day 15. Rest Day

Rest day or options for sightseeing to World Heritage Sites/ ayurvedic massage or rest in Kathmandu.

Kathmandu Valley has, perhaps, the densest concentration of UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Seven UNESCO WHS of Bhaktapur Durbar Square, Boudhha, Pashupati, Patan Durbar Square, Swoyambhu, Kathmandu Durbar Square and Changu Narayan Temple are framed within 400 sq km. For a full day tour exploring three UNESCO WHS are comfortably possible. For example, you may choose Bhaktapur Durbar Square (a medieval city square), Pashupati (the holiest Hindu temple) and Bouddha (a Buddhist stupa) for a smart mix of culture and architecture with two major religious (Buddhism and Hinduism) sites of Nepal.


Day 16. Back to home

Transfer to the airport in time to secure a flight back home
