Gumbadanda is on the route of Pathibhara and Kanchenjunga trail, the famous pilgrimage sites of Eastern Nepal. The village is located on the top of Phungling, the district headquarters of Taplejung district. Gurung has 90 houses on this village in Taplejung Municipality-6. The village is connected to Fungling-Suketar road.
The Gurung Museum, Mahadev Pokhari, temples, monasteries and rural lifestyle of tourist importance are found in the village. The excellent view of Fungling Bazaar is seen from here.
Kanchenjunga Himal and Pathibhara Danda can also be seen the village,.
Farming and animal husbandry can be experienced in the village and weaving of radipakhi can also be observed.
Organic dishes are cooked in the kitchen of the homestay. Vegetables, potatoes, vegetables, kiwi, apples, cardamom, pears, etc. are serves according to the season.
Cultural programs are shown in the evening as per the demand of tourists.
There are homestay facilities in 10 houses of the village where 60 people can stay. Community Homestay has been launched in the village since 2012 in support with SNV Nepal's Great Himalayan Trail Development Program.
